UPS Maintenance - The Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) is typically the heart of every electrical power path to business critical loads, thus making UPS Maintenance a necessity. With businesses more dependent today on complex electronic equipment than any other time in history (data processing, IT, process control and communications), making sure this equipment is operational and working at peak efficiency at all times is something we pride ourselves on. The loss of use of any business critical systems can be staggering, financially as well as the potential loss of customer goodwill, especially when compared to the cost of preventive UPS maintenance. The primary purpose of the UPS Preventive Maintenance inspection is to be proactive by ensuring that the UPS, Batteries, and Peripheral components are operating within specifications, all components are in good order and the system will be available to support its critical load, period. Microline Systems offers a wide variety of UPS services with options that allow us to tailor each agreement to your individual requirements. Our services include: 7 X 24 on site UPS services, Preventive UPS Maintenance, Corrective UPS Maintenance, Full UPS Maintenance, Proactive replacement programs, including fans, capacitors, air filters, and other services.
Battery Maintenance - Batteries are the heart of almost every emergency system and studies continue to show that up to 90% of failures in UPS systems are due to batteries. The costs associated with lost data or damaged critical load equipment can be staggering, especially when compared to the cost of preventive maintenance. The primary objective of a battery maintenance program is to ensure that the battery system is able to meet the emergency run time requirements for the critical system to which it is connected. Microline Systems offers a variety of IEEE 450 and IEEE 1188 compliant battery maintenance programs and can customize services and reporting to fit your specifications.
Battery Installation Services - We perform complete battery installation services, including staging, rack assembly and anchoring, cell loading and all interconnect wiring and hookup. Spill containment systems and other safety related equipment can also be provided. All installations are performed in accordance with IEEE and manufacturers specifications and carry a one (1) year standard labor warranty. We also provide free disposal of old batteries in compliance with all federal, state and local environmental laws. Microline Systems installs all major brands of flooded, valve regulated lead acid, NiCad, Li-ion and other batteries on/in open rack, cabinet, or modular configurations.
Emergency Service – Microline System’s emergency service program is an aggressive and rapid response mechanism developed specifically for critical power facilities such as hospitals, data centers, government, military, transportation and telecommunication operations. Our philosophy is to aggressively and rapidly respond to instances of system failure with the right personnel and the right material to bring the site back up immediately. We guarantee 15-minute phone response and 4-hour on-site response time in our service area.
Load Bank Testing - Load bank testing provides verification that your power system is capable of operation at its rated capacity as well as providing timely identification of any problems so that remedial action can be scheduled and taken. Microline Systems offers a variety of load bank testing options and can customize services and reporting to fit your specifications.
Power Quality Testing - Whether you are looking for a new power protection solution or experiencing problems with an existing installation, our experienced staff can perform testing and monitoring services to determine average, steady state and trended loads, voltage and frequency variations, total and single order harmonic content and more. With state of the art test equipment we are able to diagnose many problems as well as properly size future equipment requirements.
Thermal Runaway Remediation - Thermal runaway is the rapid uncontrolled increase in temperature, when the rate of internal heat generation exceeds the rate at which the heat can be expelled. The cells in a battery pack are generally close to one another, and if thermal runaway is not detected, damage to the battery as well as equipment nearby can occur, as well as system failure and service disruption. Thermal runaway in one cell can start a chain reaction that spreads to surrounding cells increasing damage. Thermal runaway is not a “sudden occurrence” as it may seem. There are a few warning signs which include an increase in cell temperature and an increase in charge current. The factors involved in creation of thermal runaway include: plate discharge & sulfation, increases in float current, internal resistance changes of battery cells, and dry out of the cells. Microline Systems can restore your critical power system after a thermal runaway event by installing a temporary system, replacing damaged batteries and equipment, and diagnosing the cause of the event so it can be corrected to prevent future thermal events.
Consulting - Microline Systems is a subject matter expert in all aspects of critical power and can tailor consulting services to fit your needs. Whether you are designing, operating/maintaining, or decommissioning your critical power system we can fill the role you need to ensure a successful outcome.
Equipment Rental (hardware as a service) – We rent a variety of UPS and other critical power equipment for short and long term periods and for both planned and emergency situations. We can install and remove equipment to fit your schedule and specifications.
